Dekmantel
Festival Amsterdam 2019
For seven years the Amsterdam based record label and DJ collective Dekmantel organises an electronic music festival in Amsterdam. We are with them since our start in 2017.
What started as a bold, fresh and straight-forward identity two years ago, and continued with a razzle dazzle twist in 2018, got a more layered and sharper approach in 2019.
Gritty rhythms and hallucinatory patterns marked the online and offline campaign and on-site printwork.

Signage in the Amsterdamse Bos contained flags, bar skirts, wayfinding and banners.
Next to that Studio Colorado designed the wristbands, crew shirts and (just keep on scrolling) merchandise.
Social media posts to highlight different artists and aspects of the festival, from headliners to live acts, and from night program to day-by-day timetables.
Dekmantel Festival aan het IJ
In the weekend, during the day, the festival takes place in the Amsterdamse Bos. On wednesday and thursday concerts took place at venues around the IJ. Special spots for special guests at the waterfront of our capital.
In the social media flyers for these particular opening days the orange color was left out to emphasize the different nature of these days and its location around the IJ river.
"We knew we weren’t making rock & roll. We were playing in someone’s church and it wasn’t rock & roll."

Drum roll…
Before this all happened, in january to be precise, some posters and billboards popped up the streets of Paris, London and Amsterdam, to announce that something was about to happen. After some days of teasing, the line-up was published through 121 single posts on Instagram.
Rendered artworks by Jack Featherstone. Every artist got their own post with their unique artwork during the 24h online launch of the line-up.
