Stockhausen at
Holland Festival 2019
The Royal Conservatoire The Hague offers a two year Master of Music programme for sound engineers, singers and instrumentalists. This programme culminates in a grand performance of Aus Licht in 2019 - fifteen hours of music in a three day marathon during Holland Festival. This is the largest presentation ever of the seven operas composed by Karlheinz Stockhausen, co-produced with the Dutch National Opera, The Holland Festival and the Stockhausen Foundation.
From outer space
Stockhausen is a visionary composer, some say a bit crazy (he claimed he came from the planet Sirius). He dedicated more than thirty years of his life to create this cycle of seven operas. The operas have a utopian and radical feel to it, full of references to our planetarium system and old myths.
