XXXL Painting

XXXL Painting was the last of four exhibitions in the overwhelming Onderzeebootloods (Submarine Wharf) in Rotterdam.

Exhibiting artists were the dutch Klaas Kloosterboer and the americans Jim Shaw and Chris Martin. Three very different artists, with one thing in common: the size of their work.

So, the size of the catalogue for this impressive exhibition needed to be big too. Printed as an extra large newspaper to show the art in its full glory, supported by a variety of essays, artist statements and editorial context, as rough as the wharf itself.

The annual exhibition of contemporary art in the Submarine Wharf is organised by Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and the Port of Rotterdam. Graphic design is in collaboration with Thonik.
